3rd Annual Nandos Jozi Comedy Festival

08/09/10 19:59
Seven Comedians. Seven days long. Unlimited laughter guaranteed. 94.7 Highveld Stereo and M-Net are proudly bringing back the biggest laughs at this years' third annual Nando's Jozi Comedy Festival to be held at the Teatro at Montecasino, Fourways, from July 26th to August 1, 2010.
Pablo Francisco, Al Madigral and Bobby Lee are only some of the big names from the international comedy circuit that will be coming from all corners of the globe to perform live on stage with SA's best in the finest straight-up, stand-up comedy show called the "UN Comedy Show".

In addition to the "UN Comedy Show", festival goers who prefer their nachos a little more spicy, can look forward to the late-night, uncensored comedy of the "UNhinged' Shows. Featuring comics like award-winning Canadian Jason Rouse, the acts will unleash their all-new killer routines in a show that is fabulously filthy and dangerously funny.

The festival will also include a showcase for new talent in the form of the very popular local stand-up competition "Comedy Showdown" hosted at Parkers Comedy & Jive, that gives SA's new stand-up talent a chance to perform alongside the international comedy heavy weights at the final performance of the "UN Comedy Show" as first prize.

"We at Nando's love nothing better than having a laugh, whether it's at our country's colourful politicians, our errant sports stars, our foolish foreign visitors, or even ourselves. So it was an obvious decision to bring the Comedy Festival back to Jozi and we can't wait to see some of the best and funniest comedians on the international and local comedy circuit", says Carla Davis, National Brand Manager of Nando's.

The Nando's Jozi Comedy Festival will once again be the highlight on the Jozi Comedy Calendar with the widest variety of comedy available. Don?t miss the chance to see all the acts and different shows at The Nando's Jozi Comedy Festival live from 26 July to 1 August 2010.

International comedy icon, Pablo Francisco (Chile) isknown as an animated, off-the-wall character and his unbelievable ability to physically morph himself into movie stars, singers, friends, family, and a multitude of nationalities give Pablo's show a universal appeal. His narration of the action-movie preview with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a tortilla vendor brings screams of laughter coast to coast.

The New York Times has called Al Madigral's (Mexico) Comedy Dynamic. The HBO/U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen named him Best Stand-Up Comedian. Bobby Lee's (Korea) success in comedy gained momentum after being spotted by legendary Pauly Shore in 1995 and went on to land a cast role on MADtv.  Joining the show in a few years later, Bobby quickly became an audience favourite on the long-running sketch show and became known for his unique brand of pain-inducing, physical humor.
